What Is The Opinion On Ear Tubes That Stay In For Long, and What Could Be The Cause Of White Areas Next To Tubes?

Tubes placed in son s ears 4/2011, both are still in, but looked like they would come out sometime last fall but have quit moving. Intense itching and white areas next to tubes, almost looks like a calcium deposit and like the tube may be pulling on the ear drum. Dr not concerned, have second consult next week. Want tubes out, it is driving my son crazy. No infection. Thoughts of ear tubes that stay in too long and white areas forming?
