What Is The Numbness In My Tongue With Neck Pain?

Hello, I have numbness in my tongue, along with pain in my neck and shoulders. I saw the chiropractor today and she adjusted me but concerned that the numbness does not relate to being out of alignment. She said to contact my medical dr. Any advice?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to:
1. Compression of neurovascular bundle in the neck region
2. Neuro-muscular in-coordination in the neck region.
3. Any fluctuation in blood pressure levels
4. Altered blood sugar levels
5. Inadequate hydration & nutrition status.
6. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, Magnesium, etc.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar level, X ray of cervical spine & nerve conduction studies will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

So, it will be better to consult a Neurologist for proper clinical examination.
Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status, take proper rest and avoid stress.

Wishing a Good Health.
Take care.
