What Is The Normal Level Of Sugar In Blood?

I'm 35 woman and was just diagnost w/ type 2 diabetes. My Dr. didnt give me any meds to take daily. Instead I monitor my levels several times a day. I am still confused as to what range my blood sugar should be and/or what is too high or too low? Also I know I can't really indulge in high sugary snacks but what would happen if I do? I have lost 30 lbs since my diagnosis but don't excercise. I now tend to eat small food portions 5 times a day instead of 3 meals and this is fine for me but what "good" sugars can I eat? Thank you....Sorry I jumped around with these questions I just wasn't properly educated on this. Matea

Hello,
Type 2 Diabetes is a lifestyle disease.I think you have done with your blood sugar level of fasting and 2 hours post meal by your doctor.Depending may be he found there is increase in the level of sugar but its not so much that you need medicines for that.So if you concentrate on improving lifestyle modifications like daily walking, moderate exercises, deep breathing exercises, controlling over food. That does not mean you have to stop eating sweet foods but lets have a control means eat in a limit, dont have foods with very high sugar and also avoid fatty items.
By these measures you can modify your disease. So dont worry.Stay stress free.
Thank you.
