hi. what is a normal reading for a womans iron count through a cbc. my doctor is telling me to take iron pills because my iron count is at 18 i asked him what a normal reading is and he said that his is at 150

welcome to healthcare magic.Let me tell you, please do not panic. Of course, your iron count is quite low, where 50 is considered the lower limit. So you can start the medication and parallely you can enrich your diet with fruits and vegetables having high iron content like spinach, guava, gooseberry(amla), apple etc.It is good to have some Vit C added to your diet as it aids in better absorption of iron
