General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern for the high cholesterol level.

The normal desirable level of total cholesterol is less than 200 mg/dL.
The normal desriable level of LDL Cholesterol is up to 100 mg/dL.

So, you have an elevated level of total cholesterol as well as LDL Cholesterol which can build up on the walls of your arteries or brain and increase your chances of getting heart disease or stroke.

So, I advise you to consult your treating doctor for the treatment of high cholesterol which may involve the use of drugs like Simvastatin along with certain lifestyle changes such as avoiding fatty veg meals, eating home cooked foods, increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables and daily exercise.
Since, the high cholesterol level (hypercholesterolemia) is said to be hereditary in nature so all the family members should be screened to detect the lipid levels.

Hope the suggestions given above could be useful.
