Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your Father having stomach pain, going to toilet after food,
watery stools, goes to bathroom 2-3 times every hour.
Stool test shows 10-15 pus cells, occult blood and stool forming substance absence; medications tried but not helping...
The history is suggestive that you Father has in intestinal infection along with some basic cause that needs to be checked out well.
I would advise him the following:
Trial with a proper antibiotic active against intestinal infection,
metronidazole, probiotics and so on.
Tests of blood: CBC, thyroid functions, to see for
diabetes, vitamin deficiencies as a result of intestinal problems and as required after clinical examination.
Tests of stool for 2 more days
Colonoscopy
CT scan of the abdomen.
All these with correlation with the clinical evaluation and examination will lead to a proper diagnosis and cure.
IF all the tests are normal, IBS that is
irritable bowel syndrome is one of the differential diagnosis.
