What Is The Medication For Dryness In Eyes?

Hello,
I am 32 yrs and a software developer. I am lately suffering of dry eye problem which is also causing constant eye flickering (left side only!). Moreover, I have difficulty opening my eyes back after closing it. I know that staring at a screen during long period can cause this problem but my work leaves me no choice. However, I have not been necessarily working more lately(the same amount of screen exposure daily as I am used to). May I take optical drops to alleviate the situation or is the problem more serious and need medical attention?
Also, can this be caused by diet as I have been fasting some time back.
Please advise.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Dry eye can occur in many conditions.
For symptomatic relief, you can put artificial tears in the yes.
The artificial tears are basically methyl cellulose preparation.
These drops provide hydration to the yes and prevent dryness.
You can use these eye drops 4-6 times a day.
However, you need to consult your ophthalmologist to find out the cause of dry eye.

Thanks and take care
