What Is The Meaning Of The X Ray Result And Is It Normal?

yes, my husband's X-Ray shows: Atherosclerosis and reticular densities within the right upper lung (which is hyperexpanded). Also minimal scarring or chronic subsegmental atelectasis following pneumonia. What does this mean?

Thanks

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

X-ray report suggests that your husband has age related atherosclerosis changes in right upper lung which is also hyperinflated. There are also reticular opacities in above mentioned part of lung and these reticular opacities may be due to may factors like sequel of infection, autoimmune disease etc.It is not cause of concern.
There are also chronic collapsed segment of lung(non aerated part of lung). It may also be due to minimal scarring and both may result after healing of infection.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
