What Is The Life Expectancy For Lung Cancer?

Hi and tnx for ur time. My father in law is 76 and 3 years ago had multiple stokes he have a g-tube so he does not eat or drink nothing tru his mouth he smoked 2 packs a day for about 40 years quit about 15 years ago. Now on 2 liters of oxygen 24/7 have efizema and COPD was diagnosed w/adenocanceroma a lung cancer. We have ask doctor's opinion and he does not think he can recovery from surgery or any treatment. What should we expect? How much longer he have? Thanks

Aim of treatment at this stage is basic supportive care.
Average survival time is from 3 to 6 months.
