Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern.
Incomplete data like site & the type of the wound. Whether
tetanus toxoid received or not?
As per the WHO-recommended guidelines for optimal post dog bite rabies prevention, the five-dose regimen is administered on days 0, 3, 7, 14 & 28 into the
deltoid muscle.
Anti rabies immunoglobluin is usually administered in case of single or multiple transdermal (deep) bites or scratches, & the contamination of
mucous membrane with saliva from licks.
If you have dog bite suggestive of the above mentioned wounds, then anti rabies immunoglobulin should be administered just before or shortly after administration of the first dose of
vaccine given. If it is not immediately available, it can be administered up until the seventh day after initiation of the primary series of anti rabies
vaccination schedule.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing you best of your health.
A feed back is appreciated.
