What Is The Dosage Of Levothyroxine And Can It Be Eaten After Cereal?
My doctor has just today given me Levothyroxine 50 MCG to take. Instructions say I should wait 1/2 to one hour before eating after I take this medication. My cereal has iron in it. Do I have to wait 4 hours after I take this med before I eat my cereal?

Levothyroxine is better absorbed if taken in empty stomach.Food interferes with its absorption,so it is advised to take 1/2 to 1 hour before food.
You need not to wait for 4 long hours.Only 1/2 to 1 hour is sufficient as it is advised to you already.
1 hour is sufficient for absorption of drugs from GIT if taken in empty stomach..
