What Is The Dosage Of Clavam 375 For Children?

my child, age 7 yrs and weight 19 kg, has taken clavam 375 - twice daily. This was prescribed by the doctor as child was suffering from URINARY infection. Is this a very high dose? the sonography report is showing that MINIMAL TO MILD BILATERAL HYDRONEPHROSIS, MILD PROMINENCE OF RIGHT RENAL PELVIS- EXTRA RENAL PELVIS.. WE SHOWED TO SOME OTHER DOCTORS THEY TOLD THAT THIS IS MINOR INFECTION AND NEED TO SURGERY..

The dose can vary from 25 mg/kg to 45 mg/kg if being given twice daily. The strength varies with the severity of the infection.
When calculated, the dose given falls in this range.

Because there are changes in the kidneys, to prevent any further kidney changes his doctor would not use a dose at the low end of the dosing spectrum.

The dose given is appropriate.
