Hello dear, welcome to HCM.
Has the patient been diagnosed with the hole in her heart recently?
does she have any other medical problems/ risk factors?
bypass surgery is also an open heart surgery (or minimally invasive one ), in which blocked vessels of the heart are bypassed with alternative vascular channels and heart is bypassed on an external blood pump.
while chest open heart surgery can be done for valve/other repairs (also on bypass blood pump)

pl. give details of the problem as to where the hole is etc.
some can be closed with percutaneous (i.e.via wires in the vessel) approaches.
these are lesser risk procedures than open hearts.
but a cardiologist will exactly tell which is appropriate.
delhi hads no dearth of good hospitals and doctors.
costs will vary with the procedure, hospital and package.

I hope I satisfied your basic questions..
