What Is The Difference Between Oxycontin And Morphene?

hi ,im confused .I have had 3 spinal surgeries ,last one inc 2 disc replacements plus ..I.have been on oxycontin 80mg 2x a day. for 15 yrs my pain was worse after surgery screeming with pain & released from hospital on 60 mg oxycontin.prior only on panadene forte . I was told that my surgery failed still I was left in constant pain. MY new GP has put me on fentanyl 100 patch ..after i mentioned that ordene liquid on my bad days combined with oxycontin gives me some relief. I dont understand he said oxycontin is not morphene ? I thought oxycontin was morphene ,could you please explain what is the difference im scared & confused .thankyou yours Mara

I really appreciate your concern, actually the potent analgesic are narcotic group of drug and they shares the different generic name according their chemical propertied else it is the narcotic analgesic all of have the same more of action and more or less same side effects and indication they all have the same pharmaceutical action as long as the pain is concern so it is nothing to confuse hope this information helps.
