What Is The Cure For Pain In Ear After Cleaning Ear With Cotton?
I used a cotton bud to clean my ear yesterday morning and have had ear ache ever since. I must have gone in too far. The ear ache is getting worse and is now throbbing and feels swollen and tender. Is there anything I can do? Thanks for your help in advance, Rachael

hello. i think you have damaged the ear canal and drum because of the cotton bud, please consult your ENT doctor for examination and please dont use the buds again. thanks

It is possible that the q tip pierced the drum. Since you say that the pain is increasing i think there might be infection.
You should see an ENT specialist. You may require a course of antibiotics if it is infected. You may require antibiotic ear drops as well.
You can take any over the counter pain killer after checking the dosage.
Till you see the doctor keep your ears dry and do not try to clean your ears.
In future never clean the insides of your ear with either a q tip or with anything else. inner portion of the ear does not require cleaning.
