What Is The Causes Positive Pregnancy Results Despite Medical Abortion?
Hi Doctor,my situation is I had an abortion around 5 weeks ago and at that time I only bled little and then the blood stopped for around 2 weeks only spots of blood wood appear then pain started and large amounts of blood with clots etc would come out so I went back to the doctor who did the same procedure as the first and I bled heavily but then the beefing has continued at times it s quite heavy but there s no pain and only some clots at times and the tests still show positive,,please advice me of why this can be or how and what can I do so that the bleeding stood? Thank. You for your time
There are three possible reasons for such complaints. 1. The first abortion procedure was incomplete and so there are bits retained inside and you are bleeding. 2. if you did not use contraceptive, you conceived again and bled. 3. very very rarely a tumor called torphoblastic tumor may occur after pregnancy and may lead to heavy bleeding.
An ultrasound will help determine the cause of bleeding. Also a blood HCG level is important to rule out the above conditions.
So please see your gynecologist and get the tests done as soon as possible.
