Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past two weeks when I sleep I am getting tremors/vibrations mainly in my chest although it feels as though they are spreading to my arms and neck and becoming more pronounced. I have recently over the past two years had breast cancer and had chemo and radiotherapy. I am on tamoxifin 20mg and nexium 20mg. I am in a semi conscious state when this happens and have been trying to work out if it is cardiac, neurological or muscular. Please can you offer any suggestions as to what this might be.
I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are related to heart palpitations. Palpitation is an abnormality of heartbeat. Palpitations are caused from anxiety, stress, panic, coffee or from magnesium, potassium and calcium deficiency.
In the most common cases palpitations are benign.
To confirm the diagnosis you need the following tests: 1. Electrocardiogram that can be followed by holter monitor test. 2. Thyroid function test. 3. Blood test(electrolyte level). 4. Complete blood count. 5. Urine test.
Contact your cardiologist.
All the best.
