What Is The Cause Of Pain In Jaw?

My jawed popped when I was chewing gum a few days ago. I thought it would go away but it has been 3 days and it is still going strong. I am having trouble eating, can't open my mouth wide, and am in pain most of the time (especially when I yawn). Could I have pinched a nerve? What can I do about it?

thanks for your query, i have gone through your question, the pain in the jaw or jaw joint and difficulty in mouth opening could be because of the disc displacement in the jaw joint...consult a oral physician for complete examination and you need to take some radiographs like TMJ view and OPG...take soft diet, dont open your jaw too wide..you can take tablet piroxicam after consulting the physician..you can give hot fomentation over the joint... i hope my answer will help you..take care...
