What Is The Cause Of Neckpain And Headache After Coughing While Having Flu?

About a week and a half ago I had the flu and was coughing really hard when I heard a really loud pop in my neck followed by the worse the headache I ve ever had. Now my neck and head still hurt to a lesser degree and only on my left side. What could cause this?

head and neck muscles will go into spasm, when you cough, due to streching.due to flu, you are already suffering from myalgias and fever, that will exaggerate your pain.you have to use analgesics and anti pyretics.
