What Is The Cause Of Nausea And Diarrhea?

I had a cervical rhizotomy performed back in Dec of 2013 and in late January I started having trouble with gastropresis but I m not a diabetic. Do you think that the nerve was somehow deaden during the procedure since the rhizotomy takes about a month or so to take affect? I m always nauseated and have diarrhea daily. I had a gastric emptying test done in February which showed that there were some delayed emptying. My question is why and how did this start. Can anyone develop gastropresis without being a diabetic?

Hi,

I really appreciate your concern, as long as the "Gastroparesis" is concerned it can happen due to many reasons right from systemic disease, infection, drug induced, endocrine dysfunction, functional, but most of the time it is reversible in transient type of Gastroparesis and it does not need any treatment.

But as the underlying cause given the treatment condition becomes normal, the most important is the correct diagnosis for pure gastrosparesis and that is happening due to autonomic neuropathy, It is the specific test called manometry it is to be done with other nerve conduction test nerve dysfunction or damaged.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
