What Is The Cause For The Ear To Hurt After An Ear Injury And The Repair Of An Epidural Hematoma?

One year after 17 year old son had surgery to repair an epidural hematoma and a severely lacerated ear (from car accident)... He was accidentally hit by another student in that ear....kids head hit the ear and behind it, while they played dodgeball. It hurt to touch, but the last 2 days he says his ear feels blocked. Bit feels fine otherwise. Should I be concerned?

Hi and thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.

I am so sorry to hear about the accident your son had. For now, there is really no life threatening reason for you to be concerned about. However, I will suggest that you monitor for any new developments and report accordingly. This would most likely turn out to be a transient occurrence than some disease for real.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to for more information or clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health.
