Radiologist 's  Response
A Bartholin's cyst develops when the duct exiting the Bartholin's gland becomes blocked & when it becomes infected an abscess formation results. The bacterial organisms that cause sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia and gonorrhea as well as bacteria normally found in the intestinal tract, such as Escherichia coli can cause it.

The treatment of Bartholin's cysts and abscesses involves sitz baths, which promote drainage. If abscess formation is then then surgical treatment is required.

Recurrent Cysts/abscesses could be due to inadequate treatment also.

Please see what your culture report says, i mean which type of organism was there in culture.
