What Is The Cause For Sore Throat?

Hello, today I have woken with a sore throat then later in the day developed extremely achy limbs and back. Chest became quite tight and painful at one point also but this has now subsided. Feeling very run down and fatigued now, with achy body and and sore inside of mouth. Is this simply flu symptoms developing or should I go to the doctors tomorrow if no better? Thank you

Otolaryngologist/ENT Doctor 's  Response
Hi,
From the brief clinical history that you provided it seems like these is some inflammation in your throat probably due to a viral infection. Body ache and fatigue are commonly associated symptoms in such a condition.

Please gargle with warm salt water thrice daily. Anti-inflamatory medications could be helpful. Please consult your doctor if you do not feel better in a day or two.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Prasad
