What Is The Cause For Itchy Left Side As On Prozak Medication?

My sister has had an itch on her left side for over 5 years. It is getting worse. She has tried everything. She is on thyroid medicine, a very low dose of Prozak, and 2 epileptic medications. Before the itch she was only on 1 epileptic medication. She is over weight.

Hello
I have gone through your question and understood your concern.

Itchy skin can be a side affect of each of her drugs.
About Prozak or Fluoxetine,i can say that itching can be a common unwanted effect of this drug.

At the other side, you mention that before the ithch ,she was only on 1 epileptic medication.

From this, i can deduct that probably the second anti epileptic drug can be a potential culpit of her actual problem.

Anyway,my advice for you is to consult her treating doctor and discuss about the possibility that her ithchy problem can be attributed to any of her antiepileptic drugs or Prozak and if it is necessary to change the therapy.

If her treating doctor confirm that her drugs are not the culpit of her actual problem, than i suggest to consult physically a dermatologist in your area for the right diagnosis and treatement of her skin problem.

Hope this information is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free and ask.
Best regards.
