What Is The Cause For Intermittent Drumming In My Ears With Dizziness?

Hello for quite a number of years I have been experiencing an intermittent drumming in my ears. It usually sounds like a drumming sound. The sound is like a large beat and then three to four quick beats with some swooshing then stops. It sort of makes me feel a little dizzy, a bit mentally foggy when it happens. It will happen maybe 5 to 20 times in a day and increases with certain background noises. It will also happen under stress and non stressful conditions.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to health care magic,

You seem to have a problem with the inner ear which has these typical symptoms of tinnitus or ear drumming as you described it and also giddiness. It is seen in a condition called the Menierre's disease. Though it may not be what you have it is definitely advisable for you to get an audiometric assessment and get an ENT consult immediately so that a proper diagnosis and treatment can be initiated.
