What Is The Cause For Delay In The Period When On Norethisterone?
Hi doctor, i didnt get my period since december...almost 3 mths now...gone for check ups and doctor gave me Norethisterone 5mg , 3 x5 days....now i completed the medicine, n waited for 5 days but my period still not coming...how many days should i wait?

Hi,
Norethisteron is a hormone preparation,it gives rise to withdrawal bleeding after the prescribed course , to start bleeding after delayed periods without pregnancy.
the result is seen within 7-10 days of stopping the pills.please wait for 4-5 days more for bleeding.
In case of no bleeding ,you need detailed gynecological examination/investigations/treatment.
