What Is The Cause And Treatment For Fatigue?

I had polio when I was 14, in 1959. After this I was unable to fight infections, I had constant sties on my eyes, absees on my teeth, boils and infected toes and fingers. I had hepetitis and glandular fever. Then I managed to cope but have always been very tired. Now, I am very tired, worryingly so. I had to give up my full time job in 2005 for this reason. I have had every test possible including a blood test for thyroid health. all tests show normal except for vitimin B12 and I have a three-monthly injection for this. Can you help me as I am so tired all the time that I am unable to drive even short distances without stopping at the roadside for a sleep. If I go on a 4-mile walk I am wiped out the next day. Is there anything that has been missed? or have I just got to accept my condition. Many thanks Isabel Pring

Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. If you have Vit B12 deficiency, you are possibly suffering from anemia.
2. Anemia causes increased fatigue.
3. Good hydration and correction of anemia is necessary. Also good amount of protein intake with moderate carbohydrates is essential. Moderate exercises to improve stamina is essential. If more details and reports are available, I can try to help you better.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
