hi my name is Sultan recently I underwent chest Xray PA view for visa and found result as CP angles blunt. They have denied me visa. I went to local doctors and they assured me after several tests that it is not a big issue and there is no harm in it and it is not infectious. Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
There are many causes for blunt costophrenic angle (CPA). like
1. Pleural effusion
2. Consolidation
3. Pleural thickening due to plerisy in the past.
So better to get done CT thorax for confirmation.
And you are asymptomatic at present, so I think you are having pleural thickening.
CT THORAX will diagnose this.
Pleural thickening is basically pleural reaction to the either of the following
1. Old pleural effusion
2. Old pneumonia.
3. Old blunt chest trauma.
So any of the above can cause pleural thickening.
So for your visa query I afvice you to consult pulmonologist and discuss these things.
