What Is The Cause And Permanent Treatment For Acne As Alaspan And Azifast Didn't Work?
Dear doctor, m 28yrs old . I'v a normal skin type which tends to gt dry in winter.all throughout the year i experience pimples (sometimes leaving marks) on my face. I never use heavy make-ups but only moisturizers,face creams, face wash, etc. I also tend to develop allergies most of the times but the cause is not certain. my doctor had prescribed me Alaspan & Azifast 3 & half yrs ago. The same allergy often shows up sometimes and i still use the same medication from time to time.Would u kindly suggest me some permanent solution to these problems. with regards.... ami@@

For acne I would suggest you to use antiacne gels either topical clindalycin 1% in a gel base OR Benzoyl peroxide gel2.5%. They are topical antiacne medication for inflammatory acne(papules or pustules)
Though this would help somewhat but may not be sufficient all by itself to control acne activity.
Your dermatologist has also prescribed you an oral antibiotic i.e Azithromycin. Antibiotics work very well for inflammatory acne and I would suggest that you continue with it for 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of acne
For night time application, I usually put my patients on topical retinoids like Adapalene, tretinoin etc.
Regarding allergies, I would have liked to enquire more about the nature of allergy, but oral antihistamines like alaspan(loratadine) are antiallergics and antipruritics and can be safely continued.
