Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Up until the birth of my son just over two years ago I was always very slim. During my pregnancy I put little weight on anywhere other than my bump (this wasn't through trying or dieting during pregnancy as I knew that was bad). Now 2 years on I have realised that those size 8 jeans that I've holding onto may as well go to the charity shop because it's never going to happen. Having said that I am completely happy with my body apart from my saggy pig like belly. I have a reasonably healthy and varied diet apart from I am obsessed with bread and cheese but abstain as much as i can. I have a slendertone fitness belt which I use on full power every day, my job requires me to be on the move all day up and down stairs all day long and I run around the park with my son a lot so I get plenty of excercise. I have tried dieting but the weight is lost elsewhere on my body which is not what I want to happen. I have tried sit ups, crunches and leg raises and I don't give up easily but nothing seems to help. Please help me as it has started to affect my social life, I don't want to go out because I feel fat and my relationship with my partner is also suffering.
Though you are already physical active, you may need to increase both your aerobic exercises and also toning exercises aimed at the abdomen. It may be best to enlist use an exercise program that may be able to help you.
In terms of diet, this is a very important aspect of weight loss, it is not possible to lose weight if the diet is not altered. There are different diet plans available, the most common are low calorie/low fat and low carbohydrate.
You can choose the one that best suits you but it would be important to stick to it consistently for at least 3 to 6 months.
I hope this helps
