Excess swelling of the feet may be caused due to different causes, most commonly Filarial parasite infection, Other causes can be varicose veins, heart problem, kidney problem, liver problems as well. According to the cause the treatment is usually given. In your case Varicose veins being the cause. You need to keep the legs elevated using pillows for instance. The medicine Daflon is given for varicose vein disorders. You may use compression stockings as well as advised to reduce the swelling. But usually Varicose veins need sclerotherapy if small like only telengectasia phase but if larger and more severe it may required surgical removal. Kindly do discuss with your Doctor in this regard. Exercise daily. Eat high protein diet like cereals, pulses, chicken, lean meat. Drink enough water.
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. Lyphedema is a condition of localized fluid retention and tissue swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system. Lymphedema may be inherited (primary) or caused by injury to the lymphatic vessels (secondary). It can be associated with accidents or certain diseases or problems that may inhibit the lymphatic system from functioning properly. In tropical areas of the world, a common cause of secondary lymphedema is filariasis, a parasitic infection. There is different classification of it into stages. You must follow the treatment regularly and you would be able to reduce your symptoms. Wish you good health.
