What Is Survival Rate Of 80 Years Old Patient On Ventilator With Jaundice?

hi,i want to discuss a patient with you,male age 80years,anaemic.diabetic and hypertensive as well,when he get admitted many tests were performed he was diagnosed with chronic jaundice and liver absecess,doctor left those pathologies and work on his femoral fracture for which he was admitted in hospital,and done his surgery and then physio therapist worked with that patient and he walked with aid,one day before he has to discharge from hospital he got blood vommits and blood in stool as well,then doctor give him some injection or drug,he is unconscious and on ventilator,doctor recommends endoscopy which is done but after ist endoscopy,again blood was found in stool,then doctor recommmends another endoscopy after 3 days,family is not allowing and worried what to do? what is survival rate? what family should do?what are your suggestions?

What was found in the initial endoscopy? What is the present Heart rate, Blood pressure and Oxygen saturation of the patient now ? These parameters are important in determining the survival rate of the patient .

If patient's BP is stable and Hemoglobin above 8 then you can go ahead with repeat endoscopy. But if BP is low then first stabilize the BP .

I advise to do these test for him : LFT, PT,aPTT, INR, Blood culture sensitivity , Complete Hemogram and revert back .
