What Is Normal Food Intake For 5 Month Old Infant?

I have an infant who is 5 months old. She has been exclusively breastfed since birth. I started her on baby food at 4 months old as told by my Pediatrician. She started out eating only one 2oz container of baby food. She now eats three 2oz containers at her dinner feeding. Is this excessive? And is it bad for her health?

Hi
Welcome to the health care magic and thanks for asking your query here

An infant should be on Breast Feeding Alone at least for 6 months and even water is not recommended
As pediatrician has suggested the formula food and as much as baby is tolerating and digesting it well , as much as baby is healthy and eating well there should be no problem with much or less quantity
however i would still advise you to breastfeed the baby as much as possible as giving large amount of baby food will subside his hunger and baby will be deprived from mother milk which is the best food for her Development at this stage

Finally I would strongly suggest you to consult it further with your pediatrician

I hope it help
thanks for the question again
