What Is Meant By An Ejection Fraction?

Can you explain what an ejection fraction is? After a HIDA scan the radiologist report reads Following ensure ingestion the gallbladder ejection fraction was high measuring 84% at 20 minutes, 97% at 40 mminutes, and 98% at 1hour (lower normal 35%)

I understand your concern.
See, gall bladder stores bile. And, the it contracts and pushes the bile out of the gall bladder to the intestines to be mixed. the total fraction of the stored bile it can push out from the gall bladder is known as Ejection Fraction...
The normal range is 35%-75%
Your values are quite high and can be due to biliary hyperkinesia.
I would ask you to consult a GASTROENTEROLOGIST for further queries and management of this.
