What Is Enlarged Lymph Nodes Of Porta Hepatis?

my mom is 55 years old about 5'7 and 230lbs she has liver chirrosis stage 4 she was having right abdominal pain and the hospital told her she has enlarged porta hepatic lymph nodes measuring up to 2.4 x 1.0 cm and enlarged retroperitoneal lymph nodes measuring up to 1.7 x 1.2 cm. what does this mean.

Hi and welcome.
These are enlarged nodes which may indicate tumor in abdominal cavity or may be reaction to some infection. He should do node biopsy for exact diagnosis and rule out all possible infections. Then it can be treated. He should also, rule out hepatocellular carcinoma especially if he has hepatitis c or liver cirrhosis. Wish you good health. Regards
