I've had high ANA readings since I was a teenager. A few years ago, I was admitted through the ER with "seizure-like activity." The only objective findings were "swelling of the dura" and a TSH of 94. No diagnosis ever reached. Any ideas of what could spike my TSH so high?
hi The antinuclear antibody (ANA) test is used as a primary test to help evaluate a person for autoimmune disorders that affect many tissues and organs throughout the body (systemic). So you are a person with autoimmune disease and for this reason i suspect for an autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland or Hashimoto s thyroiditis( Auto-anticorps anti-thryroperoxidase = AAC anti-TPO will diagnose this disease)and in Hashimoto thyroiditis TSH can spike in high values.
