What Is Causing Itching Of Urethra?

My urithra is itching badly. It's also red around the hole and just inside the skin has turned white and has started peeling. It kept me up all night hurting and I have no clue what it is. I have to set up a doctors appointment but don't have the money right now... What could it be?

Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I have read your symptoms and i understand your concerns.

Itching badly as you mentioned above, the redness around the hole and the skin turned white usually is a sign of urinary tract infection (UTI), for my opinion.

Usually UTI has also other symptoms, like the ones that i am writing below:
-A burning sensation when urinating
-the urge to urinate
-Blood in the urine (hematuria)
-A feeling of pressure in the lower abdomen

Depending of the type of infection and the response of your immune system you might have one or a few of those symptoms.

What to do?

If you were my patient i would start you on antibiotics. Fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacine) are the best choice for UTI and do a urin test/culture to confirm the diagnosis. Since you can't check up with your family doctor to take the recipe we can do something on our own, that will help your body to fight infection.

-First try to have a lot of fluids, fresh fruit juice like oranges, lemons because they have Vitamin C that helps your immune system.
-marshmallow Root Tea, chamomile tea,peppermint-ginger-juniper berry tea are natural antiseptics that help our body fight the bacteria.
-emptying your bladder as soon as possible after having sex
-use paracetamol or ibuprofen for the pain

Those are just some tips to help your immune system, probably without antibiotics will be hard to get rid of the infection, but it will help to control it and stop it to be spread at your kidneys.

As soon as you can,you need to start antibiotics and do the urine culture/test for the diagnosis.

If you have any other question, feel free to ask me any time.
