What Is Causing Hissing Sound In My Ear?

going out of my mind.I have a loud hissing noise coming from my left ear.It is relentless.I hear it constantly .My quality of life has gone down dramatically.My regular doctor says that he sees junk behind the ear drum.causing it to look like a cloudy window.My ent sees a dark lining but sees nothing behind it.I was working in a crawl space below my house and got a lot of sand and dirt in my face.was sneezing and coughing Got wax build up in both ears that was removed by my general doctor but was left with a hissins sound in left ear.I was wondering if I had junk behind my ear drum causing that noise

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have hissing sound from your ear . Well this hissing sound you are experiencing occur is known as tinnitus . There can be many reasons for tinnitus like stress and anxiety , temporomandibular joint problem , changes in the local blood pressure or over all blood pressure , and some underlying conditions like meniere's disease . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI , blood test and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , blood pressure lowering medicine or supplement like ginko biloba .Doctor may also refer you to oral surgeon if there is TMJ problem . For now drink green tea thrice a day .
