What Is Causing A Persistent Swollen Lymph Node On The Neck?

I have a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck for about 6 years and when I m ill it gets bigger. However the lump is always swollen and doesn t go down. Sometimes I get an electric pain shooting at my lump and I have been feeling the lump more than usual why is this?

Thanks for sharing your problem here in this forum...
There are multiple causes of swollen lump on the side of the neck..proper history and examintion is required to give you the exact diagnosis...in your case there is long history so it may be some lipoma or sabacious cyst...lymph node may occur but if there is some chronic infection...i will advise you to see your surgeon to give you exact diagnosis and treatment...hope you got your answer...thanks
