What Is An Alternatinve To Birth Control Pills?

Hello, I am a 30 year old female. I have been thinking about taking a form of birth control, but im terrified to be on any birth control. I have taken it before in order to loose hair and had a very bad experience. I do not want anything to change my body. I am afraid of pain, loosing hair, gaining more hair, loosing weight, gaining weight, affecting pregnancy in the future, mood swings, different monthly cycles, spotting, being heavy or having a light PMS. I have a very difficult type of personality and when I'm used to something that I have lived without for so long, its hard to make a change. I'm scared about the whole situation. Any advice will help please. I have not yet seen a doctor or mad any appointments to discuss this. Thank you

Hello and welcome to HCM,
There are many methods of contraception.
Oral contraceptive pills are one of the various methods of contraception.
The contraceptive methods include hormonal and non-hormonal methods.
Non-hormonal methods include barrier methods- condoms, cervical caps and intra-uterine contraceptive devises.
Hormonal measures include oral contraceptive pills, intrauterine pills with hormonal coating or skin implants.
Skin implants are implanted intradermally and they release small amounts of hormone regularly.
You can choose among these options.
You can consult your gynecologist for more details.
In case you want to get the implant or intrauterine devices you need to get it done by your gynecologist.

Thanks and take care
