What Is Colestipol Prescribed For?
i have diarhea and i took a pill i have here because i ve had it 2 nights in a row. the pill i took is Colestipol, then I started questioning my wisdom. i either had these pills for bowel problems or bladder promblems can you help? I am 82 years old.

Colestipol is normally used to treat high cholesterol though it can also be used for diarrhea (if associated with increased bile acids) as well.
It may not be helpful for your diarrhea which is most likely due to infection (viral or bacterial).
It would be best to concentrate on making sure that you keep hydrated which is the main aspect of treatment.
Oral rehydration solutions or gatorade would be most helpful.
Probiotics may also be helpful in the resolution of your diarrhea.
