my mother has been prescribed Cifran 500 mg twice a day for UTI. The course will last for 5 days. I wanted to ask if the dosage is proper or is it too much? Her urinary sample report shows presence of bacteria. Can a lower dosage do the sam job? My mother is specially sensitive to high dosage of allopathic medication.
Hi This is the correct dosage recommended. For severe infections we sometimes even prescribe at a dose of 750 mg twice daily. I will not recommend a lower dose.
