Dear sir i can understand your concern
the main activity during Hajj is a kind of long walk with bare foot.
this make patients more prone for hypoglycemic episodes and bare foot walking might cause diabetic foot infection in individuals with Diabetic neuropathy.
its mandatory to go for full diabetic profile and give fitness for patients to visit Hajj.

patients visiting my clinic i would like to give this advise

1.always carry medicine, snack and glucometer with them.
2.they should be advised to carry a small card having name and diabetic status and some general directions in case of hypoglycemia and unconsciousness.
3.advise to check there feet regularly for any damage.
4.advise to reduce the dose of medication during fasting like ramadan.
5.advise to take medication and food in time.
6.always keep a by stander with them.
