What Extent Will Lungs Be Damaged Due To Heavy Smoking?

Hi there, I'm 19 years old and have been smoking for 3 years on and off. On average, about 30 cigarettes a week. I'm wondering whether you could tell me to what extent my lungs have already been damaged and how long it would take for them to recover from the damage I have already caused if I quit smoking now. Also, what respiratory improvements would be made and how quickly? This is because I intend to begin competitive sport again and need to improve my fitness. Regards, Joshua

HI
Well come to HCM
You are too young, you should not smoke at all (And this not even advisable for any age and genders) this could damage the lung in any way which you can not be imagined, some time may be fatal one, or permanent disability, until you quit this you can not think about the recovery, once you stop this everything would be fine soon, take care, have a nice day.
