My Son is 6 yrs old He is a bright and happy kid, but also hyperactive and defiant. He is having trouble making friends and trouble at school and while playing, because he fights with kids. He don't t listen to us not follow our instructions, he is too much hyperactive and aggressiveness he is hitting others, consult with physiatrist at Colmubia asia hospital with Dr Meena/ Santosh Hospital Dr Soopriya she has gave us a long written report about his observations & from last 4 month we are giving him attentrol 10 Mg tap morning one & evening one. But no use still he is same. Can any body please help me where should i consult.
Well first of all you can up the dose of attentrol to 20 mg morning and evening each because as of now he is being placed on a lower dose which may be insufficient to counter his hyperactivity and aggression.
If this doe snot work after trying him on this dose for 3-4 weeks then you may ask his doctor to try either methylphenidate at dose of 5 mg / day to begin with or mixed amphetamine salt at dose of 10 mg / day. Either of these can help his symptoms.

What Else Besides Attentrol Can Be Given To A Hyperactive And Aggressive Child?
Greetings ! Well first of all you can up the dose of attentrol to 20 mg morning and evening each because as of now he is being placed on a lower dose which may be insufficient to counter his hyperactivity and aggression. Either of these can help his symptoms. If these arenot available then clonidine or modafinil may be tried. I hope this helps. Regards
