What Dosage Of Vigamox Is Advisable For Corneal Abrasion?

Hi, my daughter went to the optometrist because she was having pain in her eye. We were told that she has a corneal abrasion and was given Vigamox. My question is regarding dosage. She was told to put one drop in the eye every hour for one to two days then every two hours for three days. This is not the typical dosage on the package or what I have looked up online. Is this correct and most importantly safe? Thank You

Yes, the recommended dosage for paediatric of Vigamox (moxifloxacin)solution is three times a day. But having said so, the dose used in corneal abrasions of other topical antibiotics are also more than than the recommended dose. So the above dosage looks obvious in this condition.
I would have advised my patient to discuss the above points with their optometrist. If you have started using it, report to your care giver if you have any side effects.
