What Does Urine Analysis Report Mean?

Hi I just had my urinalysis lately and it shows:

color: Yellow

transparency: slightly turbid

reaction 5.0

specific gravity: 1.020

sugar: negative

protein: +1

pus cells: 2-4/hpf

rbc: 6-8/hpf

epithelial cells: few

bacteria: many

mucus threads: few



What does it mean?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from urinary tract infection(UTI).
This is indicated by slightly turbid appearance of urine and presence of pus cells,epithelial cells,mucus threads,bacteria in urine.
You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar,Renal function test,Urine culture and sensitivity and Ultrasound of abdomen. Further investigations can be done if needed.
At present you need proper antibiotics after culture and sensitivity report.
