Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m Abhishek from India. I had my widal test a week ago. S. Typhi O 1:160 S. Typhi H 1:80 S. Typhi AH Negative S. Typhi BH Negative Are these values normal. I feel light fever & headache sometimes but everything else is normal. I ve no loss of appetite, take sound sleep, no constipation, no nausea Please tell me what problem do I exactly have.
This is is a Widal report for typhoid is positive for S. Typhi O at 1:160 dilution & S. Typhi H at 1:80 . While for other antibody titre it is negative. If you have fever higher than 100 F then it might be significant & you might have typhoid. As you have no symptoms like loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation etc, so chances of typhoid are very few.
Some doctors will tell you that you have typhoid but the fact is that with one widal report you cannot be labelled as typhoid. As this may be titre of some old typhoid or other infection. We have to report the widal titre and if it shows a raising titre then it is significant else it is not.
Refer to your physician for consultation Hope this information helps
