What Does This Uterus Ultrasound For Irregular Periods Indicate?

My periods for the last 3-4months were irregular.i had my period on june 15th and on august 16th I wokeup feeling wetness of my blood on my bed and dats it later there was no bleeding(I jus had my bleeding for half an hour or so).. I visited a gynaec and have had ultrasound scan and several tests including pap test.. it said I had inflammatory smear, satisfactory for interpretation and negative for intraepithelial malignancy.Ultrasound scan report said- Uterus was normal,Right ovary - 4.5× 2.1×4.2cm (21.2ml)Left ovary - 4.9× 2.4×3.1 cm (19.9ml)Both ovaries are slightly bulky and show multiple tiny peripherally arranged follicles,No evidence of free fluid in POD.My TSH was also normal,Later I had my period on august 26th..and bleeding lasted for four days... but later evenif I dont bleed I find something like a whitish flesh like thing wit tints of blood in it and also after intercourse the extra semen that comes out has a tint of blood wit it..Please hlp me out..Really scared...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern.
It's good that your investigations excluded more serious conditions. It's inflammation of endometrium.Your history of periods along with USG scan report suggests Irregularity in ovulation..poly cystic ovaries./ endometritis.
* You should get investigations done for hormonal assessment ( FSH, insulin resistance test ) / Endometrial biopsy to confirm the results.with advise of your gynecologist & start with specific treatment.
* local examination by gynecologist will also exclude/ diagnose vaginal infection or cervical erosion or cervical polyp.which can be the cause of your blood stained discharge . In case present, it needs specific management by a gynac.
Thanks.
