What Does This Upper GI Endoscopy Test Result Indicate?

I had an Upper GI endoscopy at the Mayo clinic. Z-line irregular, 31cm from the incisors. What does that mean? I am embarrassed by the medical community. What happened to the mission of just helping people. I am going to do a blog about the difference of medicine, being both the patient, and the medical provider. I feel sorry for the helpless patient s that still think Doctor s are God! Way too many people are misdiagnosed because of time limits per visit, treating only one symptom versus looking at the whole picture, and unfortunately, you just verified that it is all about the almighty dollar. Maybe you should go back to being the doctor that I feel you started out to be...the one that cares. So, where is my answer? Can anyone answer this question honestly? This is not a question for money, it is a question of integrity, humanity, and the true desire to give back. So, I see that everyone has an answer, but it comes with a price tag. Don t you ever want to open an honest dialogue about computer medicine? I want to see who has the courage and guts to answer these questions and redeem my faith in medicine. Oh... I bet there are rules against this. Don t worry, I hope my blog goes viral, not to do you any harm, but because medicine has become fragmented, money driven, insurance based, and downright cowardly. Good luck in our endeavors as robot docs.

Welcome to HCM
I have read and understand your query
I hope this will be useful
The lining inside your stomach and includes glands and other things designed to help digestion. But the inside lining of your food pipe (esophagus) is relatively plain and shiny. The two linings look quite different with a lighted endoscope camera. At the bottom end of your esophagus there's a "transition" line, where your esophagus lining changes abruptly to your stomach lining, and this is called the Z line. Some people also call it the gastro-esophageal junction. The Z line is usually a bit irregular, hence the name, but it can become markedly irregular if it gets irritated due to Reflux of acid back up the food pipe,GERD i.e when secretion of your stomach reflux back into the oesophagus and irritaes its lining resulting in the change of normal shape of the lining of eosophagus. This irritated modified area of food pipe is also called barrets oesophagus.
Due to this change of food pipe lining more into gastric lining, the Z line is displaced up from the normal position of the gastro oesophageal juntion.the distance of this new junction vs the old normal junction from the incisor teeth give us the clue of height of barrets eosophagus.
As you have mentioned in your query Z line is at 32 cm but you have not mentioned the distance of gastro-oesophageal junction.Which can vary according to height and stature of individuals. But still in my review you Have slight displacement of zline from GE juntion.Your gastroenterologist must have taken biopsy.Wait for the biopsy results. It will give a better clue for the dysplasia or whats going on and to what extent at cellular level.
The position of the Z line is usually measured as so many centimetres back from your front teeth
I hope you know a better answer to your query now.
